Nature – The Designer

We live in a world created by Nature but mutilated by humans. Every day we interact with hundreds of natural objects, the majority of which we take for granted. If you observe carefully, Nature is the best designer as well as beautiful inspirational source, provided you learn from it. In fact, I consider Nature to be my teacher, inspiration as well as idea creator.

Nature gives you everything you can dream of and designs much more than you can learn from it, in your lifetime. Here are few examples of my observations, all captured on a single lazy evening, using Canon EOS 5DS R fitted with Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM & Godox Ving V860C II E-TTL Li-ion used as an off-camera flash. All these natural subjects which were captured spoke to me in language which I could understand. Since I cannot translate them to words in English, I am not going to explain on any. I hope these designs will speak to you too in a meaningful way.

I’ve always believed that I can’t be creative unless I’m inspired in some way. Inspiration sounds like it’s an internal thing. We have heard of great creative artists and imagine that inspiration wells up inside of them, and suddenly they come out with these great work of art. That’s just not true. Inspiration always comes from the outside.

How do you become inspired? The most inspirational people are the most observant people who are able to take from the outside world. They convert what they see into something that drives their creativity. The simplest and most effective way of doing that is to observe things. Observe those things that might be relevant to the thing you’re thinking about. Look for ideas to solve the problem you’re trying to solve from t5hose observations, the idea that you’re working with.

Everyone from Picasso to Leonardo, people we think of as being creative geniuses who in fact were extremely good at taking inspiration from the outside world and having it drive their own creative engine. Borrowing from the surrounding world is at the heart of all things we do creatively to be inspired.
