Here is the Time table of Kambala Races which are going held in Dakshina Kannada & Udupi Districts during year 2012-13. Theese are the dates announced by District Kambala Committee. My heartfelt thanks to Vishwas Shetty for collecting this information.

Remember these dates are subjected to change, so before planning your visit please confirm dates and then proceed. If I notice any changes in the dates I will update here.

  3. Thanks for visiting my site and asking questions. Yes some of them have a larger participation and will last for 2-3 days. Some are not so prestigious. All depends on the venue, organizers and prize money. My home town Moodbidri holds the largest every year (26th Jan 2013) Race goes on to three days & night non-stop.

    Thanks a lot for the info!!! I would like to visit the Kambala in your home town, Moodabidri, on 26 Jan. I am planning to stay for 2 days. I will be coming from Bangalore. Could you please advise on accommodation at Moodabidri and how to get from Bangalore to Moodabidri. I am not planning on driving.

  21. Nice to hear from you. Kambala dates for 2013 are not announced yet. Kambala happens throughout Dakshina Kannada & Udupi district between December to March every year. On every Saturday & Sunday Kambala will take place. The venue hosts one event per year. There are over 30 venues all in the district. So anybody visiting during that period can watch Kambala on Weekends.
    Most of these details are on my website. This year’s dates are not finalized, as soon as they are I will post them on my website.

  23. Kambala time table is not ready yet with official Kambala Committee, as the rains have not yet stopped. End of October I am hoping to get announcement. As soon as it is official I will publish it on my website. This year there are few new Kambala tracks so, we are expecting Kambala to begin by Nov 15th and will go on till March end. Whole of December every Sunday there will be a race somewhere here.

    I mean buffalos must be giant, “adda halage” race etc etc……..
